Rumer was born and spent the very early years of her life in Pakistan as the youngest of seven children. Living in an expat colony without TV or newspapers, Rumer and her family would often sing and write songs together.
The family relocated from this to the New Forest and Rumer eventually moved on to London, where she worked as everything from a pot washer to a popcorn seller.
Rumer was discovered by musical legend Burt Bacharach, who flew her to California just to hear her sing, a pretty impressive start to a career.
'Slow' is released on August 23rd and will feature on Rumer's debut album 'Seasons Of My Soul', which is due for release in November.
We're expecting Rumer to announce the details of her first live dates shortly, having already played at Glastonbury and Hard Rock Calling this year.
