Following Jay Z's thanking of the Spice Girls, Mel B and Geri Halliwell have – perhaps unconvincingly – said they taught the rapper everything he knows.
Speaking backstage with Rich and Kat after presenting the award to the rapper, they spilled the beans on Spice Girls’ enduring influence on hardcore hip hop:
"It's true", said Mel B. "He learnt it all from the rap in 'Wannabe'!"
"I've also seen him in the Union Jack dress", chipped in Geri.
