Justin Bieber talks to the Vodafone Big Top 40
On Sunday Justin Bieber released his new single, 'Boyfriend', less than 24 hours after its release it entered the Vodafone Big Top 40 at No. 2, just behind his protege Carly Rae Jepsen.
The Vodafone Big Top 40 was the only chart where he could get to No. 1 on the day of release, so we gave him a call to let him know how he got on in our chart.
During the chat Justin told us that fan reaction to his new single has been "amazing" and the support from his fans has been "incredible".
The Canadian singer said that he is happy the song has made fans of people who didn't listen to his music before, "like I've gotten people say that they didn't really listen to my music and then now they heard 'Boyfriend' and they really liked it, so it's really good to hear that."
Justin also gave us a little bit of a tease about the video for 'Boyfriend' which he said we'll be able to watch in the next two week. He says new video is his best video yet and will include an "ice scene" and a "fire scene."
Beliebers will be excited to hear that Justin revealed to us that he's been working on a song with US country pop singer Taylor Swift for his upcoming third album 'Believe'. "It's crazy," Justin explained. 'I mean I even wrote a song with Taylor Swift, so the whole album ranges differently.
Biebz has previously confirmed the record will boast collaborations with the likes of Kanye West, Drake and Mike Posner, "we worked with Mike Posner for 'Boyfriend' so that turned out well, and then we sued Timbaland and Kanye and Drake and so many different people."
'Boyfriend' was released last Sunday and flew straight in to the Vodafone Big Top 40 chart, your downloads helped him get to No. 2 but Bieber wasn't beaten to the top spot by his own new signing, Carly Rae Jepsen.
This week, Justin gets another shot at the top spot, make sure you're listening to the UK's No. 1 chart show this Sunday from 4pm.
