This Week's Top 10 (18th January 2015)
-
1. 10. Taylor Swift - 'Shake It Off'
We get a feeling this won't be the last time you see Miss Swift in this week's top ten singles. The '1989' STILL hasn't grabbed a No.1 with a '1989' track, could this finally be the week?
-
2. 9. Avicii - The Nights
Avicii released feel-good anthem 'The Nights' last Sunday however it missed out on a place in our top 40. But what a difference a week makes! The song has rocketed up into the top ten singles around right now.
-
3. 8. Ed Sheeran - 'Thinking Out Loud'
Ed Sheeran should most probably set up a holiday home in the top ten. We can't think of another artist we see more regularly in the best singles of the week than main man Ed.
-
4. 7. Alesso feat. Tove Lo - 'Heroes'
Looks like Alesso has won the mini battle in the charts between two superstar Swedish DJs this week. The 'Heroes' man stays one place above Avicii with his collaboration with Tove Lo.
-
5. 6. Olly Murs feat. Demi Lovato - 'Up'
The dream team spend their sixth consecutive week in the top ten of the Big Top 40 chart. It seems like anything Demi puts her voice to turns into gold, gold we tell you!
-
-
6. 5. Taylor Swift - 'Blank Space'
All you #Swifties are a real dedicated bunch aren't you? This is Tay Tay's TENTH appearance in the chart with her second single from '1989'.
-
7. 4. Hozier - 'Take Me To Church'
It's been a long time coming for the Irish guitarist. Take Me To Church was first released all the way back in 2013! It has taken over a year for the song to propel up the chart and get the recognition it clearly deserves.
-
8. 3. Philip George - 'Wish You Were Mine'
The UK based DJ/Producer spends ANOTHER week in the top ten with his debut hit single 'Wish You Were Mine'. The track samples Stevie Wonder's soul classic 'My Cherie Amour'.
-
9. 2. Meghan Trainor - 'Lips Are Movin'
So close yet so far. Meghan Trainor's follow up to her smash hit 'All About That Bass' just misses out on the top spot this weekend but is in a good position for next weekend.
-
10. 1. Mark Ronson & Bruno Mars - 'Uptown Funk'
They have done it. The dominating duo have secured the longest reign at No.1 since Meghan Trainor spent a 5-week stint at the top last year. This makes it SIX weeks and still the only No.1 single of 2015.
