Kylie Minogue has been announced for Glastonbury's 'legend' slot, performing at the festival solo next summer for the first time.

The Australian pop star will perform some of her greatest hits in the Sunday teatime slot on 30th June 2019.

It's Kylie's first time performing solo at the festival - she was due to headline the Pyramid Stage in 2004 but was forced to pull out to undergo treatment for breast cancer, being replaced by Basement Jaxx.

"I’m so thrilled to announce that I’ll be playing the ‘Legend slot’ on Sunday 30th June at @glastofest 2019," Kylie announced in a post on her Instagram.

"It will be 14 years since I was originally meant to appear there and so much has happened up to now. I can’t wait to see you all there to share this special show."

In recent years, Dolly Parton, Lionel Richie and Barry Gibb have taken to the stage for the festival's 'legend' slot.

Glastonbury returns to Worthy Farm from 26th - 30th June 2019, after taking a fallow year in 2018. Stormzy has been announced as the Friday night headliner with the rest of the line-up yet to be revealed.
