Lady Gaga's new single 'Stupid Love' almost went straight to Number 1 on the UK's biggest chart show.

Lady Gaga is back and her new single has had a huge impact on its first week in The Official Big Top 40.

'Stupid Love' debuted at Number 2 this Sunday, just two days after its release, making it a strong contender for next week's Number 1.

Billie Eilish currently holds the top spot, with her Bond song 'No Time to Die' securing a third week at Number 1.

Lady Gaga had a big chart hit last year with 'Shallow'. The award-winning song from the movie A Star Is Born spent 37 weeks on the UK's biggest chart show.

The singer has had four Official Big Top 40 Number 1 songs in the past. 'The Cure', 'Telephone', 'Bad Romance' and 'Born This Way' all reached the top.

Sam Smith, plus BRIT Awards winners Mabel and Celeste joined Will Manning on the show this week.

There were also New Entries from SZA x Justin Timberlake, plus Scottish singer Gerry Cinnamon with his first chart hit.

Jax Jones, Martin Solveig and Raye's new single 'Tequila' was a New Entry at Number 16 and the trio will be on the show next Sunday afternoon from 4pm.
