Our Top 10 has been a reshuffled this week with 4 of last week’s biggest tracks moving up and 7 new entries coming into the chart.
With a little bit of movement in our Top 10 this week, we see a chart debut from Lily Allen’s newest record ‘West End Girl’ come in at number 7. It’s Lily’s fifth studio album and her first album to be released in seven years, said to be inspired by the end of her marriage to ‘Stranger Things’ star David Harbour.
Amongst the 7 new entries, we also see a chart return for Cat Burns with her newest track ‘There's Just Something About Her.’ The song featured on her second album, "How To Be Human," which was released on October 31st, and bravely talks about the emotional impact of losing her father and grandfather.
Louis Tomlinson also joined us to talk about the inspiration behind his new track ‘Lemonade’ and how it feels to come back to pop music. He chatted to host Will Manning about navigating making music since One Direction, his first musical inspirations and his deep love and appreciation for his fans standing by him over the past 10 years.
It’s also been a massive week for Olivia Dean, whose song ‘Man I Need’ moved up 20 places in this week’s chart! After releasing it as a single before the release of her latest album ‘The Art of Loving’, the track quickly became a fan favourite and has been slowly creeping up the chart. It’s not Olivia’s only tune in our Big Top 40 as ‘So Easy (To Fall In Love)’ has also climbed up 8 places to number 16. Could ‘Man I Need’ be in line to our next Number 1?!
We also had a re-entry from Benson Boone with ‘Mystical Magical’ coming in at number 24. He’s had a tough week after cancelling a show in Birmingham at the last minute due to losing his voice; he posted the unfortunate news to his 6.4 million Instagram followers, saying “I have tried everything I can to revive my voice but I cannot give you the show I'd like to be able to give you with the condition of my throat right now. I promise you I will do everything in my power to make it up to you.”
With big new drops from Dave and Tems teaming up, plus a fresh sound from Florence + The Machine, the race for the top spot is wide open but who will knock Taylor Swift from the top spot? Could we see Olivia Dean get her first Number 1?
