Ava Max's 'Sweet but Psycho' slipped to Number 3 this week on The Official Big Top 40 as Calvin Harris and Sam Smith battled to be the new Number 1.

It was Calvin Harris who ended up on top, with his Rag'n'Bone Man collaboration 'Giant' taking the Number 1 trophy.

'Giant' becomes Calvin's ninth Number 1 on The Official Big Top 40, following on from 'Promises' with Sam Smith which went to the top at the end of 2018.

In a strange coincidence, it was actually Sam Smith who had to settle for Number 2 - his track 'Dancing With A Stranger' with Normani climbing four places this week.

The week's highest New Entry came from Ariana Grande with '7 Rings' making a huge impact on the chart at Number 4, just two days after it was released.

It's the latest track to be taken from her upcoming album 'thank u, next' and is likely to challenge Calvin and Rag'n'Bone Man for the top spot on next Sunday's show.

Rag'n'Bone Man joined Will Manning on FaceTime from his home to find out the news that he was Number 1.

Jax Jones and Olly Alexander were also on the show - with their track 'Play' at Number 7 this week - and Mabel joined Will in the studio to see her new song 'Don't Call Me Up' enter the chart after being released on Friday.

There were also New Entries from The Weeknd, Sigrid and American boyband Why Don't We.
