Ed Sheeran has held off competition from Coldplay and BTS to retain the Number 1 spot.

Ed Sheeran has bagged his twelfth week at Number 1 this year.

'Shivers' claimed the top spot for a third week on The Official Big Top 40 this Sunday, adding to Ed's impressive tally.

'Bad Habits' and 'Visiting Hours' have also been at Number 1 for Ed on the UK's biggest chart show in 2021.

The singer had to hold off tough competition from Coldplay and BTS. Their collaboration 'My Universe' entered the chart at Number 4 last Sunday and climbed up to Number 2 this week.

Coldplay and BTS have had a Number 1 each this year but will be hoping to claim a second with their new track.

Becky Hill and Topic's track 'My Heart Goes (La Di Da)' was also climbing this Sunday, up three places to Number 4.

The week's highest New Entry was Tom Grennan's new single 'Don't Break the Heart' at Number 24.
