Afrobeat track 'Peru' has taken Number 1 position in The Official Big Top 40 Chart.

Fireboy DML was on the show today via Zoom, winning his first ever UK Number 1 with his 'Peru' remix with Ed Sheeran.

The Nigerian singer revealed to Big Top 40 host Will Manning that he had accidentally ignored Ed Sheeran's initial DM.

He later went on to say that winning a Number 1 was "a big moment for me, but more importantly, for Afrobeat music".

'Fingers Crossed' singer Lauren Spencer-Smith was also on the show today via Zoom.

Lauren revealed to Will Manning that she is "the biggest Niall Horan fan ever" and cried with excitement when Niall sent her a personalised video.

She stated that "the fact he knows my name, I could start crying right now".

This week's highest New Entry came from Digga D & Still Brickin with 'Pump 101'.
