Kate Bush Soars To Number One With 'Running Up That Hill' 37 Years After Release

'Running Up That Hill' is this week's Number 1 as Kate Bush tops the charts after nearly 40 years since she initially released the atmospheric song.

Kate Bush has topped The Sky VIP Official Big Top 40 with 'Running Up That Hill (Deal With God) after the fascination that has surrounded the track following its appearance in Stranger Things 4!

The ethereal song, that was initially released on Bush's 1985 album 'Hounds of Love', meaning the Number One is a whopping 37 years old at its peak in the chart!

'Running Up That Hill' has dethroned Official Big Top 40 mainstay 'As It Was' by none other than Harry Styles, a tune that has spent a total of nine weeks in the prime spot.

The famously enigmatic songstress released a statement via her website about the sudden pop culture moment that has surrounded the tune since it was used in a pivotal Stranger Things scene featuring Sadie Sink, who portrays Max.

Kate wrote: "I’m overwhelmed by the scale of affection and support the song is receiving."

"I have to admit I feel really moved by it all. Thank you so very much for making the song a number one in such an unexpected way," she continued.

Capital's Summertime Ball acts Harry Styles, George Ezra and Sam Ryder nabbed spots 2, 3 and 4 respectively, proving that their bops are undeniable tunes of the sunshine season.

This week's highest clumber goes to Styles – who currently holds four places in the chart – with feel-good track 'Late Night Talking' from his latest album, 'Harry's House'.

The chart saw three new entries this week, with collaborative track 'Lonely Heart' by Jax Jones, Martin Solveig, GRACEY and Europa coming in at Number 40.

Tom Walker and Junior Andre also bagged spots with new entries 'Number 10' and 'Slide', respectively.
