Zara Larsson has opened up to fans about how anxious she is feeling about her upcoming album.

In an emotional Instagram story, Zara revealed that she isn't ready to bring out new music just yet.

The 20-year-old singer has been working in the studio recently but admits that she isn't completely satisfied with the result: "The production just isn't there 100%, I don't want to release anything half-arsed."

Speaking from her bed, Zara talked about how important it is for fans to enjoy her music. "I'm really anxious about my music, 'cause I want it to be perfect for you... I'm so scared of my fans not liking it, I just don’t want to disappoint myself and you guys," Zara said.

Zara discussed the pressure she puts on herself for her music to be commercially-successful: "I want to have my songs played on the radio, I want as many of you beautiful people as possible to come to my shows."

The 'Lush Life' star was also honest about where she saw her position within the industry and the impact that this has on release dates.

"It's really hard to schedule a release when you're not a global superstar, 'cause I'm not... the world won't stop because I release a song," Zara said. "The longer I wait, the more pressure I put on myself and its making it harder to release something because now my expectations on myself are so high."

Zara's international debut album So Good came out in March last year, including the singles 'Never Forget You', 'Ain't My Fault' and 'I Would Like'. She also featured on Clean Bandit's 'Symphony', which went to Number 1 on The Official Vodafone Big Top 40 in April 2017.
