Biggest Songs of 2018

We're over halfway through the year so it's time we took a look at the biggest songs so far!

There have been some massive releases in 2018 from the likes of Drake, Calvin Harris & Dua Lipa and Ariana Grande. 

Eleven different songs have topped The Official Vodafone Big Top 40 in the first half of the year but which will come out on top overall?

Here are the Top 10 songs of 2018 from the start of January up to the end of July...

10. George Ezra - Paradise

Highest position: 2 / Weeks in chart: 22

George Ezra returned with his second album Staying At Tamara's in 2018 and it's produced some of his biggest hits to date. He's not managed to hit the top spot yet, with 'Shotgun' and 'Paradise' both just missing out at Number 2.

9. Jess Glynne - I'll Be There

Highest position: 1 / Weeks in chart: 13

Jess Glynne is the queen of The Official Vodafone Big Top 40 with more Number 1's than any other female artist. I'll Be There topped the charts in June 2018 and spent two weeks at the top.

8. Clean Bandit - Solo ft. Demi Lovato

Highest position: 1 / Weeks in chart: 11

Nobody does collaborations like Clean Bandit. The group teamed up with Demi Lovato for their latest single 'Solo' and it spent three weeks in-a-row at Number 1 on The Official Vodafone Big Top 40.

7. Liam Payne & Rita Ora - For You

Highest position: 1 / Weeks in chart: 24

Rita Ora and One Direction star Liam Payne came together for this track from the Fifty Shades Freed movie soundtrack. It was the second Number 1 of 2018 and stayed in the chart for 24 weeks.

6. Keala Settle & The Greatest Showman Ensemble - This Is Me

Highest position: 3 / Weeks in chart: 29

It's amazing that this song never made it to Number 1! 'This Is Me' from The Greatest Showman movie has spent longer in the chart than any other song in the Top 10, after first entering back in January 2018.

5. Portugal. The Man - Feel It Still

Highest position: 2 / Weeks in chart: 23

It's certainly one of the catchiest tracks to come out of 2018 so far. Portugal. The Man's 'Feel It Still' spent four weeks at Number 2 in the first half of 2018 but could never quite manage to reach the top spot.

4. Ariana Grande - No Tears Left to Cry

Highest position: 1 / Weeks in chart: 15

As returns to music go, none in 2018 have been as highly-anticipated as Ariana Grande. The singer released the lead single from her new album Sweetener in April and it spent three weeks at Number 1.

3. Drake - God's Plan

Highest position: 1 / Weeks in chart: 21

"She say, "Do you love me?" / I tell her "Only partly" / I only love my bed and my momma, I'm sorry." Drake released his latest album Scorpion in 2018 and the lead single produced one of this year's iconic lyrics.

2. Calvin Harris & Dua Lipa - One Kiss

Highest position: 1 / Weeks in chart: 17

Calvin Harris and Dua Lipa coming together was bound to produce something special. 'One Kiss' topped the charts for the first time in April 2018 and has spent a total of four weeks at the top.

1. Rudimental - These Days ft. Jess Glynne, Macklemore & Dan Caplen

Highest position: 1 / Weeks in chart: 26

The biggest song of 2018 so far is... 'These Days' from Rudimental, Jess Glynne, Macklemore and Dan Caplen! The track first topped the chart in February 2018 and spent the next nine weeks at Number 1!
