18 November 2018, 19:58

Ariana Grande's 'thank u, next', Pink's 'A Million Dreams' and Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper's 'Shallow' were locked in a three-way battle for this week's Official Vodafone Big Top 40 Number 1.

It was Ariana Grande who came out on top - with her new song 'thank u, next' spending a second week at Number 1.

'thank u, next' is Ari's second Official Vodafone Big Top 40 Number 1 of 2018, following 'No Tears Left to Cry' which was at the peak for three weeks in April and May earlier this year.

It meant Pink and her daughter Willow's cover of 'A Million Dreams - taken from the new The Greatest Showman: Reimagined covers album - had to settle for the Number 2 spot again.

'A Million Dreams' is one of four songs from The Greatest Showman movie soundtrack on this week's chart.

The release of the covers album meant there was a New Entry for James Arthur and Anne-Marie's version of 'Rewrite the Stars' at Number 37, which is likely to climb much higher next week.

Panic! At The Disco's 'The Greatest Show' and Keala Settle's original 'This Is Me' were the other tracks in the chart.

Also on The Official Vodafone Big Top 40 this week, there were New Entries from Charli XCX and Troye Sivan, Ava Max and Little Mix - with their new album LM5 also just released on Friday.

Plus, Cheryl joined Marvin Humes and Kat Shoob to see her new song 'Love Made Me Do It' enter the Top 10.
