10 Alternative Christmas Songs That Are Just As Good As The Classics

We all know 'Last Christmas', 'All I Want For Christmas' and 'Santa Baby' but have you heard The Strokes' lead singer's very own festive tune?

The Killers Feel it In My Bones

The most wonderful time of the year has arrived! Yup, Christmas is coming, the goose is getting fat, please put a penny in the old man's hat and all that kind of stuff. However are you getting a little bored of the same Christmas songs every year without fail?

Well...maybe it's time to take a look at this list and add something a little different to your festive favourites.

Julian Casablancas - 'I Wish It Was Christmas Today'

The Strokes lead singer Julian Casablancas wrote this little Christmas number for a sketch of SNL but we think it's pretty awesome as a standalone single!

The Killers feat. Ryan Parley - 'I Feel It In My Bones'

Yeah...we thought that was a pretty freaky video too but then The Killers bring out a Christmas single nearly EVERY year so we just couldn't leave it out.

The Crookes - 'It's Just Not Christmas Without You'

This is actually SUPER sweet. The four piece miss their family and friends so much when they're on tour that they just had to write this little slice of indie bliss.

The Darkness - 'Christmas Time (Don't Let The Bells End)'

Don't act like you don't LOVE this single. Come on, The Darkness were such an incredible flash in the pan but heir Christmas anthem will live in forever.

Coldplay - 'Christmas Lights'

We could have chosen a few Coldplay songs that aren't technically 'christmas tunes' however then we remembered the rock legends made an ACTUAL festive tune!

Dog Is Dead - 'Christmas Wrapping'

Ok we're sorry, we know this is a classic but Dog Is Dead's rendition of the popular yuletide song is a must-hear this December.

Fall Out Boy - 'Yule Shoot Your Eye Out'

It's a little grim however this is one of those rare examples of a rock Christmas song that doesn't actually suck....there we said it.

Blink 182 - 'I Won't Be Home This Christmas'

Blink 182 were one of those bands you just couldn't get enough of in the noughties and for good reason. When the trio brought out their very own Christmas single, everyone went a little nuts (and it still stands the test of time).

The Nightmare Before Christmas Soundtrack (Revisited)

Tim Burton's classic 'The Nightmare Before Christmas' has a soundtrack you can't easily forget but did you know the whole soundtrack was revisited with artists such as Marylin Manson, All American Rejects and Plain White T's.

Glasvegas - 'A Snowflake Fell And It Felt Like A Kiss'

Scottish rockers released this back in 2008 and it became one of the most loved Christmas songs on the indie circuit, enjoy!
