The teen star was due to give a live outdoor performance in Sydney for the national breakfast show, Sunrise.
Over 5,000 "Beliebers" camped out over night to see the show but due to the overwhelming numbers, several fans were injured in the crowds. The police were forced to step in and cancel the event at Circular Quay on Monday.
Justin took to his Twitter account to reassure fans that he hadn't cancelled on them: "I want to make this clear... I dont cancel... I woke up this morning to the police cancelling the show for safety reasons."
Justin was taken to Seven Network's studios, home of Sunrise to perform in a safe environment, while disappointed fans watched on big screens. Bieber managed to put a smile back on his fan faces by making a brief appearance from the studio's windows.
As Justin was leaving the country he once again tweeted his Aussie fans saying "I want to say thank you for the most incredible welcome. I won't ever forget it and I can't wait to come back soon and perform."
