A new teen star is about to go top 10
Meet Birdy, at just 14 she looks set to make a dent in the Big Top 40.
It's not that unusual to see teens in the chart but here's a song that is sure to give you goosebumps. Justin Bieber first charted in the UK when he was 15 and Willow Smith has already had a couple of songs in the chart and she's only 10.
Now, the UK has got its very own teen star, Jasmine Van Den Bogaerde from Lymington in Hampshire goes by the name of Birdy and at just 14 years old looks set to score her first Big Top 40 hit.
Birdy's Mum, a concert pianist, taught her to play piano at the age of 5 and by the age of 7 she was writing her own music.
Birdy entered UK Idol 2008, an annual contest which attracts around 10,000 hopefuls in two categories. Birdy was crowned the winner of the under 18s group after performing 'So Be Free', a song she wrote herself at the final at the Guildhall in Portsmouth.
Her first chart hit looks set to be her interpretation of US indie singer, Bon Iver's 2008 single, 'Skinny Love'.
